Boris will star in a television advertising campaign culminating in the Poker Star European Poker Tour finale in Monte Carlo April 12th-17th 2008.
Staying with Poker Stars, Jerry Yang the reigning world poker champion will join 200 online qualifiers for the first ever “live” poker tournament to be held in China. November 22-27th.
Yang won $8million at the WSOP in 2007 gaining him recognition as one of the top ten world tournament prize money winners.
Another “ Bahamas Boy” Rodney Dofort now vice president of Carnival Cruise Lines Casino opps, has announced the installation of PokerPro tables on all 22 Carnival cruise ships.
As part of the Carnival / PokerTek partnership poker tournaments spanning January through November 2008 on selective “ Fun Ships “ of the Carnival fleet has been organised with over $250,000 in prize money.
Grand dad in the “ lock up”
Paul McKinney 82 winner of the WSOP seniors division was arrested with 15 other men 7th November during a gambling raid that yielded almost $20,000 as reported by the Associated Press in Kingsport Tennessee.
McKinney had won $202,725 at the WSOP Las Vegas 2005!
Poker Tip
A salutary tale as in the scenario above, playing poker privately for fun and enjoyment is totally acceptable, but when the “ stakes” go up in private games so do the risks!
