Malta revisited
Whenever I feel like a break from the daily humdrum of life in Birmingham, or any other major city for that matter, what better place is there to visit than Malta.
The flights are cheap, the weather, even in Malta`s winter
(november-april )it is hot during the day. I have sunbathed in November last year!
Also so much choice of accommodation at very reasonable prices.
MaltaBargains.com are highly recommended.
Perhaps I was fortunate to have old friends waiting for me on arrival?
Mario Ingretolli and Pascal Villain.
Mario is the senior gaming manager for the new "The Casino" at Portomaso which opened in June last year.Pascal is his able assistant/Pit Boss.
Mario and Pascal have also worked at the sister casino in St Pauls called the "Oracle", prior to the grand opening of "The Casino " in St Julien.
I was taken on a grand tour of both casinos and treated to the most excelent à la carte diners in both restaurants.
Each of the casino`s are individualy charming and very modern, but if I had to chose, I think I liked the Casino Portomasso St Juilien better, but only by a short head.

The service in both Casinos is outstanding, so a trip to the restaurants is a must, even if it isn`t your lucky day at the tables.
My ten days in Malta flew by and I had my batteries fully re charged for business as usual in Brum.
I shall be changing gear in February for a "revisit" to Turkey for my Bridge Corner, not forgetting to mention the friendly atmosphere of the Union Bridge Club Tigne Street Slima.
