Frank Lefty Rosenthal dies.
Chicago born, in the seventies and eighties, he ran four casinos in Las Vegas including the Stardust Hotel.
Lefty Rosenthal featured in the classic mobster movie Casino ( played by Robert De Niro )
He narrowly escaped death in real life when a mafia car bomb failed to kill him.
Nicknamed Lefty because during a court case in Chicago’s Al Capone era Rosenthal pleaded the 5th amendment 37 times keeping his left hand aloft throughout the hearing.

Unknown pensioner Glen Whitmer wins $1.2 million north America world poker tour tournament at the Niagra Falls Casino Ontario.
20th October at the Niagra Falls Casino 67 year old Glen Whitmer from Waterloo Ontario won the $1,200,000 1st place prize beating long time Vegas professional Gavin Smith who has won more than $3,000,000 during his tournament career.

Beaten in London at the European Poker Tour London Open by Michael Martin who won a record £1,000,000.
A total of 596 players each paid £5,000 buy- in to create a prize pool of £3,349,200.
Boris was not alone as other celebrities were taken down including Alberto Tomba, Gualter Salles and American ASOP bracelet winner Kathy Liebert.

They rigged a nearby room in the Borgata Hotel and Casino New Jersey with surveillance equipment and computers to cheat a player out of tens of thousands of dollars.
Fortunately the State police arrived and seized the equipment.
