TCS John Huxley Celebrates 30years
24th August
The “ Chipper Champ” a roulette chip sorting machine came into production 30 years ago this month.
Technical Casino Services in partnership with Huxley’s were responsible for the innovating automated electronics of the “Chipper Champ”.
Chipper Champ organised ten colours for the Dealer electronically. ( also the cash chips )
For the Casino operators this was a cost cutting bonus, reducing staff and increasing table turnovers.
Prior to chipping machines, busy roulette games required two Dealers, a “ Chipper ” and an experienced Dealer, to run the game and to pay out.

Editors Comment
Sadly with the advent of this new technology, the standard of roulette dealing skills declined.
Trainee roulette Dealers could spend up to three months “chipping” and making up the payments for the experience Dealer before dealing on a live game.
This was an invaluable experience for a roulette dealer to gain chip handling skills and to learn the payment tables, picture bets and odds.
Watching a skilled roulette dealer, on a big action game, is a joy that is seldom seen today.

Poker Tip
On a live poker game
How many times do you see even the top professional poker players shuffling chips and tossing bets flamboyantly across the table.
Notice how the poker tell, “nervios chip shuffling”, becomes so obvious when a player has gone all in and lost.
Try to minimise this behaviour at the table, as it will give the more astute player a big edge.
